and it just keeps getting worse ONTD lol…
–Mother Jones tried to track down donors listed in George Santos’ 2020 campaign filings.
-More than a dozen top donors had addresses that don’t exist or names that could not be verified.
-The congressman’s latest campaign is under scrutiny due to questionable loans and sources of funding.
-Before he was elected in New York’s 3rd congressional district last year, “Santos” made an unsuccessful bid for Congress in 2020.
-His campaign raised $338,000 that year. But an investigation by Mother Jones reports that at least more than $30,000 came from donors whose identities can’t be confirmed, raising concerns of possible violations of federal campaign finance laws.
The fun thing about the George Santos scandal is that each time he puts off answering to some time in the future, some new scandal comes out that he has to answer for

“The only thing consistent about Mr. Santos’ FEC filings is that they smack of corruption and gross incompetence.”

-New questions emerged about the campaign finances of U.S. Rep. “George Santos” after his campaign filed an updated report with the Federal Election Commission (FEC).
-Santos’s campaign previously reported that a pair of six-figure loans from the candidate — one for $500,000 that was made last March and another for $125,000 in October — came from his personal funds.
-In the latest filing with the FEC, the campaign states the loans did not come from Santos. The campaign did not provide any further information on where the money actually came from.
“Voters are entitled to know who is paying for the campaign of the people who are asking for their vote,” said Susan Lerner with Common Cause New York.
“The only thing consistent about Mr. Santos’ FEC filings is that they smack of corruption and gross incompetence,” said Donald Sherman, chief counsel with Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. After examining the latest FEC updates filed by the Santos campaign, Sherman noted, “The number of expenses being just below the number where you have to provide receipts is highly questionable.”
“I don’t amend anything,” Santos told reporters on Wednesday. “I don’t touch any of my FEC stuff. So don’t be disingenuous and report that I did, because you know that every campaign hires fiduciaries. So I’m not aware of that answer.”
To be sure, it’s not unusual for campaigns to file updated reports with the FEC in order to correct errors or provide additional required information. But Erin Chlopak, the senior director for campaign finance at the nonprofit Campaign Legal Center (CLC), said that Santos’s filings aren’t typical.
“The FEC has already issued a large number of requests for additional information where they flagged their own concerns,” Khlopak said. “I think that this particular committee has raised an unusual number of questions.”

-The Justice Department also asked the FEC to provide any relevant documents for an investigation, sources told the Post.

He was running a ponzi scheme bc of course:
George Santos, the congressman who brazenly lied about key aspects of his biography, worked at Harbor City for more than a year before the Securities and Exchange Commission accused the firm of defrauding investors of millions in a “classic Ponzi scheme.” https://t.co/HG2JAyeOEm pic.twitter.com/3o77csmOpm

Gave a speech honoring Holocaust survivors:
It is appalling and offensive that someone who has lied about being Jewish and having grandparents who fled the Holocaust would have the chutzpah to “honor the survivors” of the Holocaust.
