Sunshine, warmth returns to the PNW Wednesday

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Temperatures are on the rise in Oregon and Washington as sunshine returns to the region Wednesday. Afternoon temperatures will rebound to the upper 60s, potentially 70 degrees today in Portland, as sunshine takes over. Today will be a great day to get outside!

In other parts of the country, severe storms are pushing through the Gulf Coast states. Areas across Louisiana and Mississippi could see damaging and life-threatening severe storms and tornadoes forming through Wednesday afternoon.

In Portland, mainly dry weather is expected to remain across the region through the weekend. A few light showers may return within a weak front Thursday night to Friday morning. That also comes with a few ups and downs with Portland’s temperatures.

The mild and dry weather only continues to increase as the weekend approaches. That’s where highs will return to the low 70s.

Cooler and wetter weather will return to the Pacific Northwest by the start of next week. Despite cooler conditions, temperatures will remain near average for the middle of April.
