Sunshine & climbing temperatures ahead – WCCB Charlotte

[ad_1]

Modest rain chances return by the end of the workweek, but most communities stay dry over the next four days.

We’re just 52 days away from Christmas, but temperatures throw a bit of a luau this week as highs slowly build into the mid-70s across the Piedmont and Foothills by Wednesday. While above-average temperatures are in sight, the mercury will settle this afternoon into the 50s and 60s across the board this Monday afternoon. Sunny skies and winds shifting out of a more southwesterly direction will build temperatures into above-normal territory before a mainly dry cold front sweeps into the Carolinas by Thursday morning. Don’t expect any major cooldowns in your weather-wise forecast, but highs will take a bit of a hit as we swing into the weekend.

A second system pushes in from the northwest by Saturday morning; this one could bring some more significant chances of rain to the Carolinas, although they likely won’t amount to much. For now, expect partly-to-mostly sunny skies this weekend with a few stray shower chances between Friday afternoon and Sunday evening. Highs appear to hang around the mid-to-lower 70s in the Metro within this timeframe. Enjoy!
