Sunny and Dry Juneteenth – WCCB Charlotte’s CW

[ad_1]

AM Headlines:

  • Hot and Dry
  • Heat Wave
  • Feels Like Temps pushing 100 this weekend
  • Still watching the tropics

Discussion:

High pressure and an upper level ridge will keep a lock on this toasty forecast for the next few days. Temps will reach the upper 80s this afternoon under sunny skies. Overnight lows will fall into the upper 60s with a repeat forecast sliding in Thursday as well. The ridge will begin to shift south leading to more moisture streaming into the region from the gulf. This will not only increase the temps but also the return of southerly flow means humidity is on the rise this weekend as well. A heat wave begins Friday as temps reach the low 90s. By Saturday temps will climb into the mid to upper 90s but heat indices will be near 100! Isolated storms may begin to creep in on Sunday and Monday. But no real relief in sight into next week as the ridge begins to weaken and a cold front slides in bringing some rain to the region..but don’t expect a big drop in temperature anytime soon…

Tropics Update:

Potential Tropical Cyclone One is still trying to get better circulation. Regardless of if this becomes Alberto or not it will bring heavy rain (5-10″ across TX and Mexico) and dangerous surf and rip currents to parts of the Gulf coast. It will likely move over Mexico Thursday.
