DENVER (KDVR) — The Estes Valley Fire Protection District responded to a fire in the 1800 block of Fall River Road at about 2:15 p.m. on Thursday.
The Estes Park Power and Communications company shut down power in the Fall River Road area due to the fire.
“Several customers may lose power,” the service provider said.
Fall River Road has a number of hotels and overnight stays. Fall River Road is also an entrance road to Rocky Mountain National Park, but the fire is not inside the park, according to the Forest Service.
The Rocky Mountain Forest Service has closed the Fall River entrance west of Estes Park and the Fall River Visitor Center due to the structure fire.
The Estes Valley Fire Protection District placed the area of Estes Valley under a stage 2 burn ban, effective from 2 p.m. on Aug. 1 until it is rescinded. Rocky Mountain National Park is also under stage 2 fire restrictions.
As of Wednesday, Estes Park officials were monitoring nearby wildfires, but no evacuation orders were in place for the city.
