SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A structure fire broke out in a residential building on Telegraph Hill near the intersection of Vallejo and Montgomery streets before 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Firefighters with the San Francisco fire department responded and contained the fire around 6:21 p.m. One cat rescued was rescued from the fire and all residents evacuated without injury, SFFD said.

People were displaced from five apartment units, including units in the building where the fire started, and units in a neighboring building.
SFFD Assistant Fire Chief Nicol Juratovac called the firefighting efforts by SFFD firefighters “a Herculean feat.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation. KRON4 will update this story when more information is available.
