State troopers look for car involved in deadly hit-and-run near Butner

BUTNER, N.C. (WTVD) — State troopers are looking for a car involved in a deadly crash Tuesday morning in Granville County.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. on Interstate 85 at NC Highway 56 near Butner.

Investigators say a car hit and killed a pedestrian, identified as Justin Tanis-Cruz Berwanger of Downington, PA, in the northbound travel lane of I-85. The vehicle left the scene.
