SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Public Schools hosted a College Career Success Night as part of College and Career Awareness Month, aiming to prepare students for life after high school.

The event, held this evening, is part of a year-long initiative by Springfield Public Schools to equip students with the necessary tools for success in higher education and beyond.

Throughout October, the district will conduct workshops on FAFSA completion, scholarships, college campus visits, and testing.

“What we want to make sure is that we are providing families with the information to support them through a process that can sometimes feel daunting,” said Yolanda Johnson, Chief of Student Services at Springfield Public Schools.

On October 15th, the district will host a college and career fair featuring more than 60 college and career representatives. This event is designed to give students and families direct access to information and resources that can help them navigate the transition to college and careers.
