Springfield Museums presents “Swiftie Saturdays” with “1989 Under the Stars” planetarium show

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Get ready for Swiftie Saturdays at the Museums!

Starting from March 23 to May 18, the Springfield Museums will host “1989 Under the Stars,” a captivating light and music show in the Seymour Planetarium featuring Taylor Swift’s album “1989 – Taylor’s Version.”

Every Saturday afternoon, visitors can immerse themselves in the celestial display accompanied by Taylor Swift’s top-selling tunes. The show promises to blend stunning visuals on the planetarium dome with the melodious sounds of Swift’s music, offering a unique and enchanting experience for all attendees.

Director of Science Jenny Powers expressed her excitement about presenting a show featuring one of the most beloved artists of all time. She hopes the event will attract new audiences to the Seymour Planetarium, introducing them to Taylor Swift’s music and the mesmerizing visuals of the planetarium.

The shows will feature moving, swirling, kaleidoscopic lights and colors synchronized with the captivating melodies of Swift’s songs. As Powers explains, the experience will engage multiple senses, from the visual spectacle to the auditory delight, creating an unforgettable journey through Swift’s iconic album.

In addition to Swiftie Saturdays, the Museums will host Taylor Swift Music Nights in the Seymour Planetarium on Thursday, May 9, and Friday, May 10, from 6-8pm. These special events will feature incredible images of the night sky presented on the Museums’ new full-dome Zeiss system, accompanied by Swift’s music played on original vinyl. Limited seating is available, and tickets are priced at $10, with the event recommended for ages 12 and up. The Taylor Swift Music Nights are co-presented with Spin That Records of Springfield.
