Spencer police charge Ware resident with child rape

WARE, Mass. (WWLP) – A man from Ware was arrested and charged with the rape of a child in Spencer.

The Ware Police Department states that 43-year-old Shayne Beardsley of Ware, who was on parole with a GPS tracking device for the rape of a child under 16, had an arrest warrant for the same charges in Spencer.

On Tuesday at around 10:30 a.m., Beardsley was located at his home in Ware and arrested. He was brought to the East Brookfield District Court and released on $10,000 bail. At around 9:00 p.m., Beardsley was detained again by Massachusetts parole officers.

Beardsley is currently being held on a parole detention warrant.
