CAPE CANAVERAL SPACE FORCE STATION — During the early morning hours on Monday, SpaceX kicked off the workweek by launching nearly 30 Starlink satellites.

The company’s Falcon 9 rocket took off from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 3:57 a.m. ET, SpaceX stated.
Going up
The Falcon 9’s first-stage rocket, old B1080, has seen its share of Starlink missions, including two crewed ones. Before this mission, it has had an even 20 launches.
After the stage separation, the first-stage rocket landed on the droneship Just Read the Instructions, which was stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
About the mission
The 28 satellites from the Starlink company have been deployed to a low-Earth orbit to join the thousands already there.
These satellites will provide internet service to many parts of Earth.
The Starlink company is owned by SpaceX.
Dr. Jonathan McDowell, of Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, has been recording Starlink satellites.
Before this launch, McDowell documented the following:
- 8,093 are in orbit
- 7,040 are in operational orbit
