Southeast DC shooting leaves 1 dead, 1 hurt

WASHINGTON — A man is dead and another is in the hospital after a shooting in Southeast D.C. Metropolitan Police Department investigators are still working to investigate exactly what happened.
Officers were called to the 4000 block of South Capitol Street in Southeast for the report of a shooting Monday night. A watch commander for the police department was not able to say the exact time the call came in.
Once on scene, police found two men shot inside a home. One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was taken to a nearby hospital. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening, according to police. Information about the man killed has not yet been made public.
Police are still working to learn what led to the shooting and find the shooter or shooters involved. So far, no arrests have been made. Police say there is no threat to the public.
