Shelter order lifted after barricade in East Norriton, Pa.

EAST NORRITON, Pa. (WPVI) — An hours-long barricade in Montgomery County has ended, and a shelter-in-place order has been lifted.

The order went into effect at 6:24 p.m. Monday for residents near North Wales and Wellington roads. It has since been lifted.

Investigators said the incident began when police were investigating a reckless driving complaint.

The 31-year-old male suspect drove to a home on the 500 block of Wellington Road and became uncooperative, refusing to exit the house, according to police.

At some point, police said the man fired several rounds from at least one firearm while inside the home. There were no reports of injuries.

After several hours, police said the suspect exited the house and was taken into custody.

Authorities have not identified him or said what charges he may face.
