September starts with sunshine & warm weather

[ad_1]

PORTLAND, Oregon — Our stretch of sunny and hot weather is going to continue into Sunday, but we’ll see temperatures just a little cooler from what we have been seeing because of an onshore flow. So expect a few clouds to kick off the morning hours around the metro area, and especially along the coast too. By the afternoon we’ll see highs running in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees.

More significant cooling arrives Labor Day Monday as high temperatures hold in the upper 70s to near 80° in Portland. Most areas across western Oregon will wake up to a least some cloud cover Monday morning. There’s also a slight chance of a shower, mostly in the higher terrain of the Coast Range and Cascade foothills. Thunderstorms may pop up east of the Cascades on Monday.

Tuesday looks to be pretty comfortable as well before another warm up arrives the middle of next week.

Have a great, safe holiday weekend
