Sensu's Raw "Pieces" EP Is an Autopsy of Club Culture: Listen

With her new EP Pieces, Sensu doesn’t just evoke emotions—she weaponizes them to redefine dancefloors as hubs for shared experiences.

Out now via London’s Attack Decay Sweet Release label, the EP arrives in the midst of a breakout for the surging Swiss producer, whose music recently received spins on the acclaimed BBC Radio 1 shows of Pete Tong, Jaguar and Sarah Story.

Pieces is less an EP and more an autopsy of club culture, laying bare its beating heart and ragged lungs through four emotive dance bangers. A raw blend of jungle, breakbeat and 4×4, it’s the sound of a rave eaten alive by its own hunger for catharsis.

“Everyone sees the world differently and our experiences are unique to each of us,” Sensu explained in a press release. “Our experiences and sensations are deeply personal. This diversity in perception underscores the importance of not comparing ourselves to others. Instead, we should strive for self-awareness, reflection and open dialogue with those closest to us. Embracing different perspectives can reveal aspects of life that might otherwise remain hidden. Ultimately, we only understand pieces of what others experience.”

Sensu flexes her versatility throughout, delivering a collection that lives in the tension between introspection and movement. “My Luv” is an undeniable standout, leaving listeners deliriously dancing on the graves of romance. A central lyrical grenade ricochets off walls of sweat-slicked synths: “Driving me crazy, I thought you were my love.”

Another standout comes with the EP’s final track, the jungle-inspired “Switch Up.” Here, she produces claustrophobic drums underneath icy vox to close with a paradoxical beast that’s somehow both frenzied and brooding.
