DENVER (KDVR) — A wildfire closed trails at the Ron Stewart Preserve at Rabbit Mountain on Thursday afternoon.
The fire was reported at about 4 p.m. and crews were working on it by 4:20 p.m., according to Boulder County Parks and Open Space. Specific trail closures included the Eagle Wind, Indian Mesa and Little Thompson Overlook trails, which are all that are inside the preserve.
The preserve is located at the easternmost point of Boulder County’s foothills. At about 5:40 p.m., Mountain View Fire Rescue reported it was assisting Hygiene Fire and Lyons Fire crews with the wildfire, which is north of Highway 66. The agency had two units on scene.
Meanwhile, the Goltra Fire in Jefferson County reached 100% containment. That fire was sparked by lightning Tuesday evening.
