PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Early morning fog will fade to a sun & cloud mix on Friday as a drying trend takes shape over the weekend.
Temperatures will return to the mid and upper 70s on Friday along the Willamette Valley. A few breaks in the clouds during the afternoon will provide mild conditions. No real rain accumulation is expected, but a few light rain showers are still possible for some through Friday evening.
A few lingering light rain showers are possible across western Oregon and southwest Washington Friday night into Saturday morning. The brief round rain and cooler-than-average temperatures felt on Saturday is due to a weakening front that will slide through the Pacific Northwest.
A warming trend will take place by the end of the weekend. Highs will return to the low 70s Sunday before quickly warming close to 80 degrees by Tuesday. This latest spike in heat pushes Portland close to 80 degrees, but Portland is typically past the potential to see highs that warm as of September 28.

Those heading to the coast this weekend can expect a wet start to the weekend. Drying skies return with a gradual warming trend by Sunday afternoon.

The latest round of warmer-than-average weather is expected to come to an end by the middle of next week. Another fall front will bring cooler and rainy weather back to the Pacific Northwest.
