Saturday starts foggy, turns warm and sunny

[ad_1]

After dense morning fog, conditions will improve, leaving us with a mild weekend.

PORTLAND, Oregon — Friday was chilly and rainy, with the metro area gathering around three tenths of an inch of rain. Places like Astoria and Tillamook gathered over half an inch of rain, with Astoria getting up to almost exactly three quarters of an inch.

By the later evening hours, all of the showers came to an end. The next thing to look out for will be the dense overnight fog that will continue into Saturday morning. This will be paired with low clouds and cold morning lows in the upper 40s.

There’s also a frost advisory going into effect from 2am to 9am Saturday in the upper Hood River Valley, with areas around Parkdale and Dee Flat feeling the coldest temperatures. Expect lows ranging from 33 degrees to 36 degrees.

The good news is Saturday conditions improve, and by the afternoon the fog should clear, and temperatures will make their way up to the low 70s, and the day will end on a sunny note.

Also expect to see similar temperatures and sunshine Sunday, with less fog to go with it, making it a mild and pleasant first weekend of October.
