Santa Clara County leaders to vote on ICE resistance plan

[ad_1]

Santa Clara County supervisors on Tuesday will vote on a proposal to put up stronger resistance to the Trump administration’s immigration policies and tactics toward South Bay residents.

If approved, the county would develop a response that is regional and coordinated and staffed by county workers. The county also would come up with a funding plan for the effort.

The proposal calls for regular meetings with the Sheriff’s Office and local police departments to ensure those agencies aren’t cooperating with federal immigration agency’s raids and other deportation efforts.
