Salman Rushdie Discusses His First Work of Fiction Since Near-Fatal Attack

Salman Rushdie lived under the threat of a death sentence for decades. Then, in 2022, he narrowly survived a knife attack that left him blind in one eye. Now, the author is channeling his experiences into "The Eleventh Hour,” a quintet of short stories that explore life and death.
