Salley Carson shared where she stands with Austen Kroll, and she revealed if they’re “messing around.” The 31-year-old also addressed her DMs with NFL star Cooper DeJean amid his rumored romance with professional wrestler Nikki Garcia.
On the new season of Southern Charm, Salley had her sights set on Craig Conover, who later chose to pursue her friend, Charley Manley. Then, Salley expressed interest in Austen, who recently broke up with his girlfriend.
“I’m still feeling [Austen],” said Salley on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. “I get giddy when I talk about him.”
The host asked if Salley and Austen are together.
“No,” she said. “But … I was literally in the Uber [recently] talking [to him]. I was, like, crying on the phone to him.”
Salley shared that she could see herself getting serious with Austen. “But not, like, right now,” she clarified. “I think we have such a good friendship, and we rely on each other a lot, and we support each other a lot. And I think we both like what we have, you know, right now, [which is] just a really good friendship. I mean, like, we talk every day.”
Salley added she thinks this is the right decision, as Austen “helps my mental status.”
“So there’s no hooking up?” asked the host.
Salley then laughed while looking away. “There’s a little messing around,” she said. “For sure.”
Later in the podcast, the star shared more details on her dating life.
“I’m definitely talking to people. I’m just not seriously dating,” she said, via Us Weekly. “I slide in the DMs. … I just slid into Cooper DeJean’s [DMs]. [He’s a] football player for the Eagles [and a] little 22-year-old.”
But Salley clarified that he’s dating a “43-year-old,” alluding to Nikki. “I sent him [an] article [about the rumored romance] and was like, ‘Are you dating her?’” said Salley, who claimed their communications began where they were “lik[ing]” each other’s photos on social media. “I have his number. I think he’s so cute. He’s going to kill me.”
She said it all started, however, when Salley liked a post about Nikki and Cooper’s rumored relationship.
“Then I went to his page [and thought], ‘Oh, he’s super cute,’” she continued. “I was like, ‘Maybe he’s into older women if he’s dating her.’ Then I liked his photo and he liked three of mine. Then I DM’d him. Then he DM’d me back [quickly]. … [I was] shocked when he replied back.”
Though they haven’t connected in person, Salley said they’re still in communication, adding, “I told him ‘happy birthday’ like two days ago.”
“I would love to meet him if he’s not dating her,” she went on. “There’s all these articles that they are dating, but he in all of his interviews is [saying] no. … Now I’m scared, because that girl is going to beat my a** if they are dating.”
