Sacramento stabbing, domestic abuse suspect in custody

(FOX40.COM) — A man was arrested on Thursday morning in connection to a domestic abuse incident and a separate stabbing at a gas station in Sacramento, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday night the sheriff’s office received a call about a man who had attacked and choked his girlfriend.

When deputies arrived at the scene of the attack they did not find the man and transported the woman to an area hospital where she is expected to recover.

Hours later, just after midnight on Thursday, a second call came in from a man who had been stabbed at a gas station along Fair Oaks Boulevard.

The victim told responding deputies that a man unfamiliar to him had backed his truck into the victim’s vehicle, opened the passenger side door, stabbed him multiple times and then drove off.

The sheriff’s office said that the two men did not know each other and this was a “random act of violence.”

The stabbing victim did receive medical care and is expected to survive, according to the sheriff’s office.

Detectives later pieced together that the domestic abuse call and the stabbing were both carried out by the same man.

Sometime on Thursday morning, a California Highway Patrol Officer came in contact with the man along Capital City Freeway and Jefferson Boulevard where he was threatening to jump.

Law enforcement stopped him from jumping and he is now in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail.
