RunGood Poker Series is Heading to The Lodge Card Club in Texas This Month

Texas is becoming a hotspot for the best poker tournament action, and the next stop will be The Lodge Card Club for the upcoming RunGood Poker Series (RGPS).

The RGPS Passport season kicks into high gear Jan. 27 in Round Rock, part of the greater Austin area. PokerNews will be on-site at the newly renovated popular card room providing live reporting coverage of the Main Event starting Jan. 29.

Texas Poker Series Highlights

Seven ring events across six days will take place at The Lodge, Texas’ larged poker room that is co-owned by Doug Polk, Andrew Neeme, and Brad Owen. The action begins with a $200 Seniors Ring Event for the 50-and-over crowd, a no-limit hold’em tournament with $20,000 guaranteed.

A second $20,000 guaranteed event runs in the evening on the opening day, and that is the $200 Ambassador Bounty Ring Event. Special guests will be holding ambassador envelopes that contain prizes such as $1,000 cash and RGPS apparel store credit.

The $400 PokerNews Deepstack Ring Event on Jan. 28 also promises at least $20,000 in prize money. Players who cash will earn points on the PokerNews Deepstack Leaderboard.

Non-hold’em players will have a couple of tournaments to feast on, starting with the $400 Pot-Limit Omaha Ring Event on Jan. 28. The $250,000 guaranteed Main Event, which costs $600 to enter, begins with Flight A a 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 29. Two additional flights per day — one at 11:15 a.m. and the other at 5:15 p.m. — take place Jan. 30 and 31, with Day 2 and the final table scheduled for Feb. 1.

Tournament poker is booming in the Lone Star State, and it’s only going to continue growing as major operators such as the RGPS begin to enter the state. It’s shaping up to be a monster year for poker in Texas, and it starts at The Lodge Card Club with the upcoming RGPS Passport Season series.
