It’s that time of year again! The British Royal Family attended the First Day of races at the Ascot Racecourse on June 18th. Royal Ascot is a permanent fixture on the British Royal Family’s June calendar and the late Queen attended all five days of the horse-racing event for over 70 years. This year, Royal Ascot follows Order of the Garter Service and Trooping the Colour.
A Royal Procession of four carriages traveled from Windsor Castle to the Ascot Racecourse in horse-drawn landaus, before the Royal Family and their guests spent the day in the Royal Enclosure.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla (wearing Prince Albert’s Sapphire Brooch) were joined by the Duke of Wellington and Princess Antonia, Duchess of Wellington in the First Carriage.
In the Second Carriage, the Princess Royal was joined by Lady Gabriella Kingston, Peter Phillips and John Warren, the King’s Racing Manager.
The Earl and Countess of Halifax were joined by the Queen’s sister, Annabel Elliot, as well as her son, Sir Ben Elliot, in the Third Carriage.
Sir Johnny and Lady Weatherby and Mr and Mrs Ralph Beckett sat in the Fourth Carriage.
Tom Parker-Bowles and Laura Lopes, Zara and Mike Tindall, and Prince Philippos and Princess Nina of Greece were also present.
