Ron DeSantis Dubs Trump a Big-Time Loser in First Comments Since Midterms

Something you may have picked up on by now is that Donald Trump hates Ron DeSantis’s guts, and while the ex-president has reportedly felt this way since at least the summer of 2021, that hatred grew tenfold last week when Fox News and the people he previously relied on to kiss the ring dumped him in favor of the Florida governor. Not surprisingly, that led to a meltdown on social media in which the ex-president screamed that he’d made DeSantis what he is and accused the guy of being an ungrateful little shit. (For good measure, he also accidentally implied he’d committed a major crime by “sen[ding] in the FBI” to ensure DeSantis won his 2018 gubernatorial contest.) Now, nearly a week later, DeSantis has responded to the remarks and, spoiler alert, Trump’s not going to like what he had to say.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, the Florida governor, who is now seen as Trump’s biggest competition for the 2024 GOP nomination, said: “One of the things I’ve learned in this job is when you’re leading, when you’re getting things done, you take incoming fire, that’s just the nature of it.” He added: “We’ve focused on results and leadership, and at the end of the day, I would just tell people to go check out the scoreboard from last Tuesday night.”

Trump, of course, wasn’t on the ballot last week but his candidates of choice fared very, very poorly, while DeSantis beat Democrat Charlie Crist by nearly 20 points.

Anyway, both of these men are terrible people and consummate bullies, so look forward to many more attacks in the weeks, months, and—dear God—nearly two years before the 2024 election to come.
