Road rage in Northern California leads to fatal stabbing

(FOX40.COM) — A man was stabbed to death after a road rage incident in Northern California, according to the Turlock Police Department.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, the TPD was dispatched to the 2400 block of West Monte Vista Avenue for reports of a stabbing. When officers arrived at the scene, they said they found 49-year-old Enrique Gomez from Turlock, on the ground. Despite life-saving measures from police and paramedics, Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to TPD, the incident stemmed from a brief verbal altercation related to road rage at a nearby apartment complex. The confrontation escalated to a physical altercation and the fatal. stabbing.

TPD, the Modesto Police Department, witness statements, and other evidence help them identify the suspect as 28-year-old Ahmad Abweny. He was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for alleged murder.
