RHOLSC Mary Cosby’s Net Worth Revealed After Church Members Accused Her & Her Husband of ‘Barricading’ Them Until They Gave Money—It Was a ‘Financial Embarrassment’

Mary Cosby has been in and out of The Real Housewives universe, but one thing is for sure—she’s got a taste of luxury.

The Housewife became a fixture in the city as the First Lady of Faith Temple Pentecostal Church alongside her husband Robert Cosby Sr., who is also her former step-grandfather. The two married after her grandmother’s death and she admitted in the first season of RHOSLC that it was an arranged marriage. “We were kind of a, I would say, an arranged marriage,” the reality star admitted. “It was kind of in my grandma’s will for us to marry. Her grandmother founded the church in 1968.

Now, new revelations are coming out from church members and Mary’s family in the TLC docuseries The Cult of the Housewife, where they claim that she stole money from them in the guise of all of it going ot the church. When asked about the series, she said it was “sad and a shame” at BravoCon 2025 in November. “It’s horrible, that’s what I think,” she said. “And it’s not true.”

What is Mary Cosby’s net worth?

Mary Cosby’s net worth is estimated to be around $5 million according to The Sun. The RHOSLC star claims she earned a lot of her money through her inheritance from her grandmother, and the fact that she and her husband own a lot of businesses in Salt Lake City like a successful printing company, which focuses on large-scale jobs, like billboards and mass production of shopping bags.

In 2020, she was accused of taking money from her church after she was heard in alleged audio where she demanded churchgoers to donate more money. “That’s so cruel,”she told Entertainment Tonight about the idea of her stealing from the temple. “I feel like it’s so judgmental, because I am African American and a woman and I do have an eye for finer things in life.”

“I have intelligent church members and they know that was all to God,” she added. “I’m so not in it for the money. Oh my goodness, I believe in what I do, I believe in what I’m saying, and I love my church and I love what they are. … Money can’t fulfill that, not for me.”

“But it’s not like I just have money coming out of the walls,” she cautions. “These [designer] things that I have are collector pieces.”

In a trailer for The Cult of the Housewife, new details emerged about what congregation members experienced at the time on things called “heave offerings.” One church member Ernest Enoch recalled the housewife chastizing churchgoers about only getting 14 cards for her birthday and the amount of money they gave her. They also claimed that the church would announce that they would need emergency funding and they would barricade them inside. The members also claimed that they didn’t know where “all this money” was going or what it was “being used for.”

“You’re just being barricaded in here,” she said. “During this meeting, everyone put their name and their amount on the list. If you didn’t have a certain amount, Robert would say, ‘That’s all you have?’ I mean, there’s nothing spiritual about that, right?”

“There were times that I would give $5,000,” Ernest’s sister Rosalind said. “It was a lot. This money is getting bigger and bigger. There were people cashing out 401(k)s, losing homes. It got to be a financial embarrassment for some.”

How much does Mary Cosby earn on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City?

While The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s cast member salaries aren’t public, a source told Tamara Tattles (via All About the Real Housewives) that she received $2,000 per episode in the first season. Mary [Cosby] and the rest of the cast signed a five-year deal limiting their increases until it ends. They made $2k per episode for season one. Then, they all got “thank you bonuses” in the form of a renegotiated salary of $6,500 per episode for season 2 as opposed to a 10% increase. They will receive increases for season three based on their contributions to the series. Expect Jen Shah and Meredith [Marks] to reach the $9-10k range and the others to get just 10%. The newbie will probably only get 10% also in order to keep production costs down,” the insider claims.
