(FOX40.COM) — The league that Sacramento Republic FC plays in, the USL Championship, expects the millionth fan to attend a match this year to do so at Wednesday’s match in Sacramento.
Republic FC will play against Las Vegas Lights FC at Cal Expo at 7:30 p.m. and one lucky guest will reach that milestone, netting a prize package from the team and league.
Republic FC said the special guest will be celebrated with upgraded seats, a custom fan kit that emphasizes being the millionth fan, and exclusive items such as an authentic match day jersey, a Select match ball and other items.
The team said that tickets for Wednesday’s match are still available.
In 2023, USL Championship matches welcomed a total of 2.3 million fans, the third straight year of growth, according to the league.
That same year, Republic FC averaged 10,000 fans at each match, according to the team.
