Remains of missing woman found inside St. Petersburg home

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Petersburg Police and the Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Office have confirmed that human remains found in a house in the city belong to a missing woman.

Kelli Fisher, 42, had not been seen since July 18 when she drove her aunt’s vehicle.

Her body was found at a neighbor’s house on Prescott Street South when a fire broke out Sunday.

Fisher’s family has been notified.

Latifa Jackson, Fisher’s sister, called Fisher a loving person during an interview earlier this week with Spectrum Bay News 9.

“She’s more than just a missing woman, she’s a mother, she’s a grandmother, she’s my only sister, she’s a niece and we deserve to have answers,” Jackson said.

Her brother, Johnny Murray, said earlier this week that he hopes someone will come forward with information.

“You know, the streets talk, and so the streets knows what’s going on,” he said. “So the streets need to do the right thing and speak up, and let us know what’s going on so we can get this resolved as soon as possible.”

The case is still under investigation.

You can provide information to the St. Petersburg Police at 727-893-7780 or remain anonymous by texting SPPD and your tip to TIP411.

This is a developing story. Check back with Spectrum Bay News 9 for additional updates.
