“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Shannon Beador is in real trouble.
The reality personality was arrested for drunk driving and a hit-and-run for a weekend incident involving a house and her dog.
A spokesperson for the Newport Beach Police Department confirmed that Beador, who gained notoriety on the hit California-based Bravo franchise since 2014, was booked for two misdemeanors — an alcohol-related DUI and hit-and-run. The 59-year-old mother of two was released after officers arrested her early Sunday morning.
TMZ reported that Beador drove her car onto a residential property in Newport Beach and clipped the house on Saturday night.
Adding to the bad judgment, Beador allegedly kept driving the vehicle before deciding to park it in the street to then act like she was walking her dog. She appeared to be highly intoxicated and was taken into custody, according to TMZ.
Authorities reportedly seized Beador’s car as part of their investigation.
A lawyer for the holistic products entrepreneur said she “is extremely apologetic and remorseful … and is prepared to accept full responsibility for her actions.”
Meanwhile, Beador’s close friend and fellow reality star Jeff Lewis revealed that Beador was “injured” during the accident.
“So she’s gonna be recovering,” he revealed on Monday’s episode of SiriusXM’s “Jeff Lewis Live” radio show. “Shannon and I have been friends for a very long time. I was shocked. She called me yesterday, we talked for a while and I was shocked because I’ve never known Shannon to ever, ever, ever drink and drive. That is something that we have both discussed previously.
“I don’t think Shannon is an alcoholic,” he added about the speculation surrounding her substance abuse. “I think she’s going through a lot of personal struggles right now and I think that she probably has been leaning on alcohol, but I don’t believe she’s an alcoholic. I am happy to say that she is going to be entering counseling this week, so I am happy about that.”
