Unfoonk — the brother of Grammy-winning rapper Young Thug — was reportedly arrested for gun possession in Atlanta.
The charge, along with several others connected to a 4 p.m. Thursday traffic stop, could violate the convicted felon’s probation, according to TMZ.
Unfoonk, born Quantavious Grier, was also reportedly hit with criminal street gang activity and two vehicular infractions. Police said they smelled marijuana coming from his Mercedes Benz, with its heavily tinted windows.
Unfoonk and rapper Gunna pleaded out of a RICO case in December involving the alleged gang YSL. Prosecutors said the organization was started by Young Thug, a.k.a. Jeffery Lamar Williams. The RICO case is ongoing.
More than two dozen people have been charged with various criminal acts in the widespread case involving YSL, which is also the name of a record label co-founded by Young Thug. In an August indictment, prosecutors said the brand is linked to a criminal enterprise.
Young Thug’s defense team claims he’s involved in various ventures that are above board.

The 31-year-old “Gang Up” performer has had numerous encounters with the law. He was jailed in 2015 for allegedly making terroristic threats. Drug charges landed him in handcuffs in 2017. Less than a year later, he was busted at a Los Angeles Dave & Busters on a concealed weapons charge during a party celebrating his 27th birthday.
Authorities said one of Young Thug’s RICO associates who’s serving a life sentence in Georgia handed him drugs in a courtroom in January. The rapper was not charged in that transaction. Young Thug’s lawyer said his client didn’t know he would be handed contraband.
New York magazine says he faces 25 years behind bars if convicted of criminal conspiracy.
