VERY FLUID SITUATION. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED? YEAH, WE JUST SPOKE TO A SPOKESPERSON FOR THE SACRAMENTO COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE. NOT 10S AGO. THE FIRST UPDATE THAT WE’VE LEARNED IS THAT THE CHILD IS ACTUALLY SEVEN YEARS OLD. BUT LIKE YOU MENTIONED, AUTHORITIES ARE TELLING US AT THIS POINT THAT SHE IS EXPECTED TO BE OKAY. WE JUST FOUND OUT THAT SHE IS A LITTLE GIRL. I WANT TO GIVE YOU A SENSE OF WHAT WE’RE SEEING RIGHT NOW. WE’RE ACTUALLY, WE’RE TOLD, JUST A MOMENT AGO THAT WE’RE GOING TO HAVE TO MOVE SHORTLY BECAUSE, UH, THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE IS GOING TO BE EXPANDING THIS PERIMETER OUT A LITTLE BIT. YOU CAN SEE THAT THERE ARE MEMBERS OF THE SACRAMENTO COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE JUST IN FRONT OF US HERE WITH THEIR VEHICLE SHINING LIGHTS AT THE APARTMENT UNIT, UH, RIGHT HERE ON THE CORNER. I BELIEVE WE’RE SHOWING YOU THAT ON YOUR SCREEN. A SPOKESPERSON FOR THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE DID TELL US THAT THEY HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SEE THIS MAN INSIDE, WHO THEY BELIEVE IS THEIR SUSPECT, BUT THAT THEY DON’T KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT HIM AT THIS POINT. IT’S BELIEVED THAT HE IS A NEIGHBOR OF THE LITTLE GIRL. A SPOKESPERSON ALSO TELLING US THAT SHE WAS STABBED IN THE BACK BELIEVED ONE TIME, UM, BUT AGAIN, LIKE YOU MENTIONED, VERY FLUID OUT HERE, LOTS OF INFORMATION, UH, COMING IN SORT OF AS WE SPEAK. BUT THIS IS WHAT WE’RE SEEING RIGHT NOW. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT 715. WE’RE TOLD, AND THIS PERIMETER HAS BEEN UP FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS. SO RIGHT NOW WE’RE SEEING SEVERAL MEMBERS OF THE SWAT TEAM MOVING. MOVING IN. OH, THEY’RE JUST WALKING IN HERE. THEY WERE MOVING BRISKLY. SO WE WANTED TO TO KEEP AN EYE ON WHAT WAS GOING ON THERE. BUT WE’RE GOING TO STAY OUT HERE AND WE’RE GOING TO KEEP AN EYE ON THINGS. BUT THE BIG THING TO KNOW AT THIS POINT, A SEVEN YEAR OLD GIRL STABBED BY A NEIGHBOR, ACCORDING TO A SPOKESPERSON FOR THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE. AND WE’RE GOING TO HAVE TO MOVE HERE SHORTLY AS THEY EXPAND THIS PERIMETER OUT IN RANCHO CORDOVA LEE ANNE DENYER KCRA 3
