[ad_1]

Today is the coolest and wettest day of the week. Temps get back to normal rather quickly as we head into another dry trend.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Storms hit York area

Storms made their way through South Carolina Saturday, bringing plenty of wind and rain, along with hail. Some WCNC Charlotte viewers reported downed trees in the Rock Hill area as well.

In the city of York and the nearby community of Newport, roughly 3,000 Duke Energy customers lost power and many people will be filing insurance claims this afternoon.

Sunday (wettest day of the week):

Rain is upon us for most of the day which will have some impacts on some events today. By the time Charlotte FC plays at 6 p.m., most of the rain will be out of here and there will be a slight chance for some sun during the last couple of hours of the day, or at least around sunset. Highs for today are already done. The temp at midnight was 63°, that will be the high for today since the afternoon will be stuck in the low to mid 50s.

Next Week

  • Highs return to the mid 60s Monday with sunshine returning (especially in the afternoon).
  • Highs back to normal in the mid 70s on Tuesday.
  • Highs range in the mid to upper 70s Tuesday-Saturday.
  • Rain chances lacking most of the week

Pollen Report

Tree pollen is the main cause of high pollen levels for mid-April before these numbers eventually taper off by mid-late May.

Rain will provide some relief from high pollen levels. Rain is expected to wash away of the pollen and levels should remain manageable into early next week. Pollen levels will ramp up again as early as late Monday and Tuesday though.
