PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Expect a fairly soggy start to our Sunday with heavy rain at times. Yet, the bulk of our rain is looking to head our way in our overnight hours and linger into the morning. Around 9 a.m., we could still see more soaking rain.
By Sunday afternoon, the rain will become more showery in nature. Looking at the timeframe of midnight to 3 p.m. on Sunday, our rain gauges in Portland could total one-half to nearly three-quarters of an inch.
Along with the rain, winds are expected to pick up, with gusts up to 25 mph around the Portland metro. There is also a 15 to 25% chance of an isolated thunderstorm throughout the Willamette Valley Sunday.
Also, for anyone heading to the Oregon Coast, be aware of a higher threat of sneaker waves from now through Sunday night.
Looking ahead to our workweek, a dry trend begins Monday and is expected remain through mid-week.
As for daytime highs, temperatures will hang out in the low- to mid-60s starting Sunday and heading into the next seven days, while the overnight lows will range from the mid-40s to low- 50s as we go throughout next week.

There is a Wind Advisory in effect now until 11 p.m. Sunday along the Columbia River Gorge of both the Washington and Oregon side, including The Dalles and stretching out to Hermiston.
The west winds speed is expected to range from 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.
With these conditions in the forecast there is a possibility of power outages in that area due to fallen tree limbs.
