Princess Caroline’s Chaumet Diamond Wings

Happy Birthday to Beatrice Borromeo Casiraghi, who tuns 40 today! The aristocratic Italian Journalist and Model married to the nephew of the Prince of Monaco, Beatrice is usually seen in spectacular contemporary creations but has also worn several heirlooms, like Princess Caroline’s Chaumet Diamond Wings!

Created by the Maison Chaumet between 1907 and 1910, these striking Diamond Wings are worn as brooch but can apparently be set on a slim Tiara or worn as an aigrette, like many similar Chaumet Tiaras of that era. The Diamond Wings were reportedly a gift from Karl Lagerfeld, who also gave the Princess a Chaumet Diamond Reed Stomacher.

Princess Caroline debuted the Chaumet Diamond Wings at the 50th Monaco Red Cross Ball in 1998.

Princess Caroline also wore the Chaumet Diamond Wings with her Diamond Flower Earrings for a Gala with Queen Margarethe II and Prince Henrik of Denmark at the Palace of Versailles in 2007.

Princess Caroline notably loaned the Chaumet Diamond Wings to Beatrice Borromeo put on the back of her Armani Privé gown for her Wedding Reception at the Palazzo Borromeo on Isola Bella in 2015.

Most recently, Princess Caroline wore the Chaumet Diamond Wings in her hair at the State Dinner for French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron at the Prince’s Palace in Monaco two months ago. There is no doubt we will see the wings worn for years to come!
