What: Charlotte Hornets at Memphis Grizzlies
When: 8:00pm Eastern
Where: FedEx Forum; Memphis, TN
How to watch: Bally Sports Southeast
The Hornets hit the road for their first preseason game away from Spectrum Center. They face a Grizzlies team that’s trying to rebound after a disastrous 2023-24 campaign that saw them employ approximately 129 different players due to injury.
They, like the Hornets, have picked up where they left off in some regard. Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. are both dealing with very minor injuries and should be ready for the regular season opener, but I don’t think either one is going to play tonight. That leaves Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart, and Zach Edey as the most interesting Grizzlies to watch.
The Hornets haven’t said anything about the status of Josh Green or Vailije Micic, who both played very limited minutes on Tuesday. Both played at the Olympics, so it seems to be as simple as limiting their minutes in the preseason.
We’ve reached the part of the preseason where guys are going to get rotated and get nights off. We’ll see who takes the floor for the Hornets tonight.
