How to watch: NBATV, ESPN+
The Hornets defend their undefeated summer league roster against the summer team of the defending champion Celtics. There may be some changes to the lineup with it being the second day of back to back games, especially when it comes to someone like Nick Smith Jr. or Tidjane Salaun that will potentially be relied on by the Hornets when the regular season comes. If that’s the case, it’ll be a chance for some of the tryout guys to make an impact.
The Celtics have played two opposite games so far. They grinded out a low scoring win over Bronny James, Dalton Knecht, and the Lakers in the first game. In the second, they lost a 119-114 shootout to Jaime Jaquez and the Heat. It’s hard to predict what kind of team they are based on the two game sample size.
The Celtics’ draft picks haven’t made a big splash yet. 30th overall pick Baylor Sheierman had a really rough second game after a pretty good first showing. Second round pick Anton Watson has blended in with the rest of the summer league play.
Their best players are guys that have played in the NBA for the Kings mostly. Jahmi’us Ramsey is 5-of-6 from three and has scored 29 points on 14 shots across the two games. Neemias Queta has led the team with 21 points per game and has been very productive on the offensive glass.
