Celtics: Who knows they don’t even care

Tonight, the Charlotte Hornets have a chance to do something that only the Denver Nuggets have done this season–win a season series over the Boston Celtics. It is a truly momentous event that will sure garner many national eyeballs. That’s especially true since the Celtics have locked up the best record in the league and will probably be treating like a preseason game.

Meanwhile on the other side of the standings, the Hornets are embroiled in a battle for the third best lottery odds. They currently sit tied with the Spurs and one game ahead of (or behind, depending how you look at it) the Trail Blazers. A Hornets win would move them into a tie with the Blazers for the fourth best lottery odds, assuming a Blazers loss to a Rockets team that cares as little about winning as they do right now.

It’s hard to really analyze this game in advance. Neither team really cares about the result. It’s all for pride, rhythm, and development. Just go out there and have fun, boys.
