PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — Prince George’s County police are looking for a suspect after a student was shot near High Point High School in Beltsville Friday afternoon.
They say the student’s injuries are serious, but they do not believe they are life threatening.
Prince George’s County Police confirmed that a juvenile was shot before 2:10 p.m. on the 3400 block of Powder Mill Road. The shooting did not happen on school grounds, police said.
The school was locked down, but students have since been released.
Authorities were searching for a suspect in the area, as of 3 p.m..
High Point’s school day ends at 2:10 p.m. Students appear to be leaving the school building as of 2:56 p.m., though neither Prince George’s police.
