Police investigating shooting at residence in west Cary

Police are investigating a shooting in the western part of Cary, the town said Thursday.

The shooting was reported at the 300 block of Barthel Drive, police said. Police responded at 3:15 p.m., and investigators were on the scene .

Police did not say whether there were any casualties but said there is no threat to the community and residents are free to come and go as normal.

Barthel Drive is in a neighborhood near the intersection of Southwest Cary Parkway and Bond Lake Drive.
