Cops continue searching for unruly teens involved in the Union Square pandemonium caused by a social media influencer’s free game console giveaway last Friday.
The NYPD released more photos, apparently taken from social media, of the unruly gamers who converged on the public park, causing property damage, tossing paint and water bottles and sparring with the cops.
Police officials called for a Level 4 Mobilization, the highest disaster response for the department, on Aug. 4 around 3 p.m. when thousands of teenagers and young adults arrived at the park expecting a free PlayStation 5, offered by Twitch streamer Kai Cenat.
The photos released Sunday show people jumping on top of a Toyota stuck at the intersection of East 14th Street and Broadway at the Southeast corner of Union Square.
Cops are looking to talk to those who they say caused damage to the vehicle.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at (800) 577-8477.
