SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) – The Pioneer Valley Jewish Film Festival is currently celebrating it’s 18th anniversary with 10 movies at seven different venues from April 4th-11th.

Sunday night in South Hadley’s Tower-Theaters, the film festival screened “The Catskills,” a humorous and nostalgic tribute to where many Jewish families vacationed throughout the 20th century.

22News spoke to viewers who attended the sold-out showing who said that this movie brings back memories and is also informative and fun.

“I’m learning a lot about my heritage through these movies,” said Julie Rosenshein.

“I grew up Jewish in my household. My father, my grandfather, and they’re no longer alive so this keeps memories alive for me,” added Jonna Sciacca.

There are still six more unique independent Jewish movies that will be screened over the next few days at all different locations, including the Basketball Hall of Fame and the Springfield JCC.
