Philadelphia School District delays decision on building closures, launches districtwide survey

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — As the School District of Philadelphia reviews its facilities, it’s adding another step to the decision-making process.

The district announced on Tuesday that it is launching a districtwide survey, with results expected next month.

The district originally said the school board would likely vote on which buildings to close, repurpose or reconstruct by the end of the year.

There will now be a public feedback period before final recommendations go before the Board of Education.
