Pedestrian hospitalized after hit-and-run in South Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A pedestrian is seriously hurt following a hit-and-run in south Sacramento, according to California Highway Patrol. 

Officials said a passerby came across a female that was lying in the roadway on Franklin Boulevard and 52nd Avenue. 

When fire crews arrived, the woman was taken to the hospital with major injuries. Officials say her injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle. 

 The Sacramento Fire Department said the woman is in critical condition. 

There is no information on a suspect.
