The pedestrian became trapped under the bus and died at the scene.
A pedestrian was struck and killed on Monday morning in Boston’s South End neighborhood, police say. The vehicle involved was a Boston University shuttle bus, according to NBC10 Boston.
Boston police received a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian in the area of the BU Medical Campus at 744 Albany St. around 7:58 a.m.
Officers found that the pedestrian was trapped beneath the bus, and they were later pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown if the bus was carrying any passengers.
Albany Street between Northampton Street and Massachusetts Avenue was closed in both directions, and the Massachusetts Avenue Connector was closed inbound toward Boston Medical Center.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
