Partial building collapse caused by high winds in NE Ohio

[ad_1]

CLEVELAND (WJW) — A large portion of the upper level of a two-story building in Cleveland was torn off by winds that howled over 60 mph Friday night into Saturday morning.

Because the damage made the building unsafe and hundreds of bricks fell along with the structures’ facade onto the sidewalk and street, Cleveland police blocked off the intersection of East 125th and Superior Avenue Saturday morning while crews inspected the heavily damaged building.

No one was injured and the building appeared to be vacant.

The NWS had issued a High Wind Warning for parts of NE Ohio Friday night.
