Opioid first aid: What employers can do to help stop overdose deaths in the workplace

This summer, the National Center for Health Statistics released some stunning data: More than 93,000 people died from overdoses in 2020. That’s the most ever recorded. Unfortunately, it’s the latest troubling chapter in the nation’s sprawling opioid epidemic. Two significant factors seem to be at work: (1) the spread of illegal fentanyl and (2) the COVID-19 pandemic.
