PORT ANGELES, Wash. — One person is dead after they were shot and killed by Port Angeles police Friday morning. 

Front Street, between Lincoln Street and Oak Street, and Laurel Street, between First Street and Railroad Avenue, will be closed for around 12 hours while authorities investigate, according to the City of Port Angeles.  

The Port Angeles Police Department confirmed that no officers were injured in the incident. There are currently no details about what led up to the shooting. 

Port Angeles Police Chief Brian Smith and the Clallam County Sheriff will provide an update on the shooting Friday afternoon at around 3 p.m. 

The Kitsap Clallam Incident Response Team is taking over the investigation.
