One person is dead after a multi-car collision on Interstate 5 near the West Seattle Bridge on Sunday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.

All southbound lanes of the I-5 at the West Seattle Bridge were blocked on Sunday morning.

The collision occurred around 4 a.m. on Sunday when a motor home struck an occupant of a disabled vehicle, State Patrol spokesperson Rick Johnson said in a post.

While an AMR ambulance then stopped to render aid, it was struck by another vehicle, which pushed the ambulance into the original disabled vehicle, striking a pedestrian again.

Johnson could not confirm whether or not the same pedestrian was struck twice.

The driver in the secondary crash is in custody for investigation of vehicular homicide and suspected impairment.

Drivers are encouraged to detour from South Forest Street to 6th Avenue South to Airport Way South.
