Yesterday I was planning on writing this post this morning, thinking that I’d have a little to write about the stress of getting travelers health insurance with my preexisting medical conditions… They wanted paperwork from my neurologist saying that my condition was stable… and once I sent in what I got I didn’t hear back from them in time…
But let me sum it up by saying that I ended up getting travel insurance for 5 dollars a day with another company as soon as they opened up for the day, before my early morning flight.
That was not the stressful part of my morning.
No, that was the car accident I was in on the way to the airport. As it is I wasn’t sure if I left myself enough time since I wasn’t getting there a full three hours before my flight. And then just as I was wondering that, there was some traffic and I slowed down, and then a car slammed into the back of my car, my glasses flew off, and then I didn’t know what was going on but I felt another bang, this time from the front.
I got out of the car and tried to figure out what was going on, searched for my glasses and eventually found them so then was a little more settled, and then wanted to know if I’d make my flight.
Long story short… I’m sitting on the plane waiting for takeoff.
A friend drove me to the airport from the crash site. I got there 55 mins before the flight. Then I asked to be taken to the wrong terminal… So had to take an airport shuttle to the right terminal. Fortunately it’s a tiny terminal and I made my flight.
It’s a miracle.
I have a bit of a headache/whiplash from the crash but I won’t let it ruin my trip. Painkillers.
Anyhow just wanted to update you.
The airplane is about to take off.
